Responsibilities:
- Conceptual Design and Development: Collaborate with the product development team to conceptualize and design mechanical systems, components, or products based on project requirements.
- 3D Modelling and CAD: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings of mechanical designs.
- Engineering Analysis: Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analysis to validate and optimize designs.
- Material and Component Selection: Identify appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes to meet design specifications, cost targets, and quality standards.
- Prototyping and Testing: Coordinate the fabrication and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts, identify potential issues, and gather performance data.
- Design Documentation: Prepare detailed design documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials (BOM), and assembly instructions.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing personnel, to ensure effective collaboration and integration of mechanical designs into the overall product development process.
- Manufacturing Support: Provide support to manufacturing teams during production, addressing design-related issues, and implementing design changes as necessary.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in mechanical design.
