The primary focus of the IT Systems Engineer role is to leverage extensive expertise in network administration and systems support to provide expert technical guidance and assistance in resolving complex IT issues. This role requires close collaboration with other IT team members to ensure IT systems effectively support the organization's business objectives. Responsibilities:

  1. Network management
    • Responsible for company IT infrastructure network management, including the design, implementation and maintenance of computers networks with network hardware such as routers, switches, access points, and network circuits. Utilise network technology such as HP Aruba, ClearPass, Cisco switching and routing, Fortinet and Palo Alto firewall.
    • Provide network administration support to ensure IT network operates optimally.
    • Keep network diagrams and topology up to date.
    • Maintain accurate company network documentation, such as IP Address management (IPAM), configuration changes and adhering to the network lifecycle management records.
  2. Network troubleshooting and monitoring
    • Quickly identify and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues including investigating and resolving network outages or performance bottlenecks.
  3. Network Configuration and lifecycle management
    • Configuring and deployment of network equipment (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) including tightening up security.
    • To maintain and support office network and manufacturing plant production network.
    • To patch and update the network devices to remediate the vulnerabilities and network flaws.
  4. System and Network security support
    • Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures (Server, Network, backup).
    • Participate in vulnerability assessments and carry out remediation work.
  5. Systems administration and server support
    • Assist in providing systems administration support on server management, WINTEL and Hyperconverged infrastructure platform, Dell Vxrail, VMware, HyperV.
    • Be responsible for system backup and recovery management.
    • To patch and update Systems OS/ firmware/ software to remediate the vulnerabilities.
  6. Serve as a point of escalation for network/server issue and be ready to be providing guidance and assistance when they encounter challenging problems.
  7. Responsible for liaising with network solution integrator and 3rd party expertise on IT Infrastructure network continuous improvement topics.
  8. Review company IT infrastructure network lifecycle management processes, procedures, policies and access account to comply with internal/external audit.
  9. Assist providing training and support to users. This may include training on how to use new software or hardware, providing helpdesk support.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Preferably a Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years network administration experience.
  • Ability to work on assigned task independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong technical skills. This includes knowledge of a wide range of IT networks and systems and, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • To succeed in this role, you should have a strong understanding of networking protocols, network security principles, cyber security best practices and experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills. This includes the ability to communicate effectively with IT and non-IT business stakeholders to illustrate the IT Infrastructure network topics in business language.
  • Strong problem-solving skills. This includes the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues, as well as the ability to develop and implement solutions to those issues.
  • Certified or equipped with in-depth knowledge in server hosting operations, network, IT security and server/storage technology.
  • CCNA, CCNP will be an added advantage.
