Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA)
Job DutiesJob Duties 1. Provide instruction in the multiple areas within Engineering Design and Drafting Technology including: · AutoCAD, Revit, and other computer aided drafting softwares related to the structural, municipal, mechanical, and manufacturing disciplines · Building Information Modeling ( BIM ) and digital transformation technology · Mechanical engineering · Project management 2. Ability to teach computer aided drafting in other program areas (Civil, Electrical, and Environmental Engineering, Welding) is also required. 3. Manage his/her classroom/lab/activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. 4. Follow any academic regulations and/or policies adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic. 5. Accommodate students with special learning needs. 6. Participate in the Learners, Instruction and Fundamentals of Teaching ( LIFT ) program. 7. Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with industry and educational requirements. 8. Practice good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. 9. Work cooperatively with program head and colleagues in an interdependent team environment. 10. Prepare and use appropriate delivery methods for instructing courses as assigned. 11. Use appropriate methods of evaluating and recording student progress. 12. Make necessary curriculum adjustments to course content. 13. Support the program by attending staff, program and division meetings, and recruitment events. Some travel may be required. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
Specific Accountabilities Duties Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)1. Related degree or diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 2. Member of or eligible for certification with APEGS as a P.Eng., or with TPS as an A.Sc.T. 3. Two years’ recent/relevant Building Information Modeling ( BIM ) or related experience (two years in the last five). 4. Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment. 5. Effective communication skills (written and oral). 6. Effective interpersonal skills. 7. Effective instructional ability. 8. Demonstrates valuing diversity. Desired QSA Required Competencies
