The British School of Bahrain is committed to providing a high-quality, international education for students in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We are a selective, coeducational, independent Nursery-through-Year 13 school. Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales, with some adaptations to the local context and offers IGCSE and A-Level/BTEC examinations. For further details of this role, please check below: The HR Assistant will assist the Head of HR in all activities related to recruitment. He/she will be responsible to execute all human resource activities with specific responsibility for on-boarding and off-boarding activities, collecting and maintaining documentation requirements, and managing the database of personnel documents both digital and physical copies.- Responsible in assisting the recruitment process in line with the Safer Recruitment and Safeguarding policies requirements.
- Liaise with shortlisted candidates for acceptance of offer letters and confirmations on joining date.
- Gather and ensure all pre-employment documentation requirements are complete and arrange all joining formalities including arranging of ID, IT access, etc. as per the onboarding checklist.
- Responsible for staff deployment and relocation, staff inductions, preparation of welcome packs and notices, brief about the School and its operations.
- Updates Single Central Registry (SCR) and ensures completeness of documents before the staff joins the school.
- Open or prepare a personal file for new joiners and encode or update it in the HR SuccessFactors database.
- Scan and update signed offers, contracts and SOPs in the HR file both digital and physical copies.
- Request medical insurance for new & existing staff and cancel medical insurance for leavers.
- Track probation period completion dates of new joiners and prepare end-of-probation or probation confirmation letters.
- Track end of contract and advise Head of HR of the staff due for contract renewal 2-3 months before the end of contract.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for educational requirements. However, fresh graduates with strong drive to learn are welcome to apply.
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in HR administration. Working experience in the education sector is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge in data analytics is preferred.
- Experience working in a Google environment preferred.
- Demonstrate strong skills in employee relations and people management.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Excellent English communication skills both reading and writing. Good planning and organising skills and effective time management skills.
- Constant drive for achievement of improved standards of performance and quality.
- Be dynamic and hands-on.
- Have a keen eye for attention to detail.
