This will also serve as a footprint for global expansion. Because this is a blank canvas, it is the perfect opportunity to set up these processes without any legacy to consider, on the other hand these processes must be aligned to the phase that the company is in.Job Title: Manufacturing LeadRole overview:As our Manufacturing Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, quality, and scalability within our manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to our COO, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day manufacturing activities, leading a team of engineers and production staff, and implementing strategies to streamline production processes. You will be a strong cross-functional communicator, able to work with departments ranging from R&D to operations teams, to IT. You will also be developing our relationships with partners and collaborators across the industry.Key responsibilities:Manufacturing Engineering: You will be responsible for creating the strategic roadmap for our manufacturing capabilities. This includes topics like defining the manufacturing blueprint of newly designed products, execution of (global) plant expansions and strategic partnerships with equipment suppliers and industrialization partners. All aspects of the manufacturing process are in scope, like (automated) assembly, line feeding, testing, and quality control. Many of our process steps are automated and to make sure they deliver the required output and quality; we use several lean/six sigma methodologies such as MSA and DOE. New equipment commissioning needs to be in line with (AIAG) PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) standards, including suitable capability and MSA. Furthermore, process optimizations are always being developed on new production tools and equipment, as we always seek improvements in quality and output.Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of engineers providing guidance, coaching, and training as needed to ensure optimal performance. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the engineering team. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to support their professional development and growth.Quality: Working with the Quality lead you will help implement and maintain quality control measures to uphold product standards and meet customer expectations. Support root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to address quality issues and prevent recurrence. Furthermore, support and work on standardization projects, for example, standard commissioning process for our equipment.Continuous improvement: Working with teams in operations and R&D, you will help to identify opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce cycle times, and improve overall efficiency. Collaborate in cross-functional teams, to implement process improvements and introduce modern technologies. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and production metrics to track progress and drive continuous improvement efforts.Maintenance, compliance, and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and safety protocols. Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to best practices in workplace health and safety. Furthermore, make sure there are proper Maintenance plans and SLAs with our suppliers in place.Requirements / Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or related field preferred.Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and build teams.5-7 years of experience in Manufacturing engineering within a scaling manufacturing environment.Proven track record in meeting targets and ensuring compliance.Proactive, effective communication and collaboration skills.Lean Six Sigma green or black belt and hence familiar using methodologies like MSA and value stream mapping and KPIs like OEE.Experience with industrialization and automation of production lines.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.Safety focused and capable of working in a changing environment.If you thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment and are passionate about shaping the future of battery technology, we invite you to join us in our mission to electrify the world.
