Job Summary: Selected candidates will get the opportunity to work as Innovation Electronic Engineer on the design and production of our Next Generation subsea robotics products. We are transitioning from our industry standard, human operated, hydraulic underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) towards a highly autonomous ROV supervised from one of our remote operating centres. The innovation electronic engineer will work in a team of experienced engineers on the ROV control system, working closely together with overseas R&D centres, internal production teams and global operational teams. Development of Control system includes: Microcontroller, digital, analog, high speed circuitry design from conceptual to working product. Simple software programming in the area of peripheral configuration, device driver, test program to facilitate hardware validation. Liaise with production department to ensure products are manufactured to the highest quality standard. Travel to any part of the world on short notice to provide system support, integration, commissioning and training. Requirements: Proficient in English. Written and spoken. Local polytechnic diploma, bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. Able to perform analog, digital and PCB design with Altium. Able to produce isometric projection drawing in AutoCAD. Knowledge in signal integrity and high-speed PCB design. Working experience with microcontrollers: Z180, PIC24, SAME5X, etc. Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision. Passion for learning. Candidate with a major in power electronics, robotics, automation or autonomous systems would be beneficial. What Fugro offers: Competitive salary with Annual Wage Supplement. Generous paid leave.
