About the Role
The Public Safety Specialist (PSS) based in Pakistan, Karachi, assists the regional public safety liaison senior manager in fostering relationships with law enforcement and public safety officials, as well as developing collaborative strategies that prioritize safety, privacy, and transparency. The PSS supports police investigation teams during critical incidents and advises the business on effective partnerships with the law enforcement to enhance community safety and protect users' privacy. This is a highly dynamic role involving both routine and ad-hoc responsibilities and therefore, we are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic to join our team with focus on safety and privacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Senior Public Safety Liaison Manager in liaising with law enforcement and public safety leaders to promote a positive, open, and collaborative relationship;
Ensure platform safety by effectively responding to incidents and providing direct support for complex or critical situations;
Guide law enforcement on supporting investigations in a legal and ethical manner;
Work internally and cross-functionally to identify actions that reduce risks and minimize threats to our people and locations;
Identify, escalate, and respond to emergencies that impact our platform, people, locations and communities quickly and effectively.
Produce accurate and timely incident updates, post-incident reports, and briefing notes for escalation;
Advocate for the protection and privacy of users' and other parties' data at all times.
Be flexible and ready to work weekends and public holidays when needed in responding in an emergency situation.
Travel as necessary across the country for face-to-face engagements, and training sessions;
What you'll need
Over 8-10 years of experience with a law enforcement agency.
Comfortable engaging with Law Enforcement and Public Safety officials at all levels within a high pressure and rapidly evolving environment.
Proficient in presenting findings both orally and in writing.
Skilled in various computer systems and internet technologies (Mac, Google, online research, etc.).
Willingness to travel within the country as required and upon request.
Flexible and able to work non-traditional hours on short notice.
Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively adapt to daily challenges.
