JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is presently looking to hire a Lead Process Engineer for our Engineering team in Abu Dhabi. Below are more details about the role.RESPONSIBILITIESLead and supervise Process Engineering Teams in Feasibility, Conceptual Studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC Projects.Undertake process design work of units as required, supervise and check works of assigned engineers on the project as appropriate.Execute process engineering activities within the budget and schedule, maintaining technical integrity of the design.Ensure that detail design methods, standards, and data used conform with Client's requirements.Be responsible for the checking or approval of basis of design, process calculations, and safety-related calculations to develop a robust design.Review and approve Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, PSFS, DPTDs, Equipment & Instrument specifications, Process Descriptions, cause, and Effect charts.Review and approve dynamic simulation study, transient study, surge study, and Minimum Metal Design Temperature (MDMT) study.Review and approve depressurization studies, flare load estimation, and flare system design.Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed.Review and approve safety-related calculations and provide input to HAZOP, SIL, and other safety reviews as required.Identify new methodology of work process required for higher productivity.Contribute to the review of supplier quotations and project reviews.Ensure that requirements of Licensor's Secrecy Agreements are known and complied with in the work performed.Participate in technical meetings and handle discussions with client engineers.Identify issues that impede project progress and report to Project Managers, Engineering Manager, or Discipline heads.As Lead Discipline Engineer, manage the team of engineers and designers, delivering the engineering requirements of the project.Mentor and engage in the training and development of junior engineers in the team.Assist project team in the preparation of planning packages, scheduling, and weekly reporting.Assist in the preparation of pre-commissioning, commissioning procedures, and operating manuals.Provide assistance in man-hours estimation and scheduling for proposals.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including a minimum of five (5) years in the GCC region.At least five (5) years of experience in a similar position in mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing teams of Specialists, Senior Engineers, and Engineers.Proficient in Process Simulation software such as HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, PipeNet, Pipesim, OLGA, etc., and should be a subject matter expert.Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.Experience of working in a multi-project/multi-disciplined environment throughout all engineering and design phases of projects.Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.ABOUT USWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
