Senior Shift Supervisor, Kitchen (503385) Launceston, Department of
Health. Launceston, Launceston, & North East TAS. Management
(Hospitality & Tourism). Government - State (Government & Defense).
Full time. $79,529 to $91,517 pa + 11.5% Superannuation.
The role: is to provide leadership, motivation, direction, and
training, ensuring all work associated with food production, cleaning
and other tasks associated with the Launceston General Hospital (LGH)
Production Kitchen is of the highest standard of quality and safety.
Monitor the performance of team members, ensuring work methods,
practices and standards are well understood, implemented, and
maintained. This is a hands-on role of cooking and management within
the kitchen operations, reporting to the food services manager.

The team at LGH Food Services consists of approximately 140 staff
members who work to provide a high-quality meal service to hospital
patients, cafe patrons, meals on wheels recipients and external
clients, both large and small. The Senior Shift Supervisor (Chef)
plays a key role in working with the Executive Chef to manage the LGH
Production Kitchen & café operations and is responsible for
day-to-day operations and supervision of staff, including
approximately 20 Chefs, Cooks and Kitchen Hands.
Hours of work are predominantly 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with occasional
variations as and when required. The successful applicant will have
well-developed interpersonal and administrative skills, be highly
motivated, demonstrate initiative and time management, have sound
working knowledge of food & kitchen operations and be able to work
with minimal direction from senior management. Experience in
large-scale or institutional food production and the management and
supervision of staff are highly regarded.
Details of Appointment: Permanent, full-time, day worker position
working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible,
notwithstanding that hours may be negotiated with the successful
applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months

fill subsequent or similar full-time and part-time vacancies.
Salary: $79,529 to $91,517 per annum. Our employer's 11.5%
superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package and a range of benefits,
including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment
each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. salary range is in
accordance with Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service)
