As the Senior Associate for our Markets and Treasury Controls team, you will provide Product Control support and analysis for the Markets & Corporate Finance businesses which are part of the Corporate & Institutional Banking ('C&IB') division of NAB. This role sits within the Product Control team that supports the Fixed Income and Treasury businesses. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Compilation of daily profit and loss reporting for specified desks within the C&IB division (Derivative Trading), ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the bank general ledger.
  • Comprehensive P&L analysis and attribution work including realised and unrealised P&L, new trades, amended trades, accruals, transfer pricing.
  • SME knowledge of desk trading products including fixed income securities and associated derivative products.
  • Analysis and control of accounting processes and practices for proposed new product initiatives, product variations or new business structures.
  • Completion of the month, quarter, half year, and year end statutory and regulatory reporting processes for specified desks within C&IB.
  • Contributing to the key strategic initiatives of C&IB Finance, C&IB and NAB.
  • Participating in system and product upgrade projects and initiatives.
What you will bring:
  • Strong financial control and accounting disciplines along with key technical knowledge of Fixed Income , Derivatives and Repo products, P&L decomposition, and trading risk metrics.
  • Experience in Finance and Accounting in a large organisation, preferably with exposure to Trading Derivatives advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a Product Control Function, ideally at a major bank within a markets control team.
  • Good working technical understanding of valuations of financial products.
  • Possess numeracy and analytical skill for numeric analysis and evaluating outcomes to identify key issues, trends, and themes from large volumes of complex information.
  • Actively building relationships within and across business streams, functional areas, and regions.
  • Experience as a subject matter expert who can provide guidance and support to junior colleagues within the team.
  • Degree in finance/accounting, ideally with post graduate studies in mathematics or associated discipline, full CA or CPA qualification preferable.
