About the role Reporting to the Head of Business Engagement & Partnering, the IT Business Partner is responsible for ensuring alignment between IT and business objectives, collaborating closely with employees and management in their designated portfolio, and aligning technology solutions with strategic goals. The role will develop a deep understanding of the designated divisions business unit plans, objectives, opportunities, and challenges - from day-to-day operations to strategic objectives and projects, and also act as a trusted advisor on all IT related projects, initiatives and relevant matters. This role will foster and promote a collaborative and positive team culture continuing to look for opportunities to make improvements to the ways of working between divisions Responsibilities The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with key business stakeholders, acting as a bridge between the allocated business unit and IT.
- Understand business units plans, objectives, opportunities and challenges including general day-to-day operations, strategic objectives and projects.
- Point of guidance if the business needs IT to deliver on a new opportunity or address a challenge, collating initial analysis (articulate business problem) before it becomes a project or an initiative.
- Understanding of where the business is not fully using functionality that is available.
- Act as a trusted advisor regarding relevant IT related matters. Proactively drive value through improved problem definition, solution clarity, better understanding of how IT can support business units with solutions.
- Have a commercial focus to understand the cost benefit tradeoffs, the size and impact of issues and the solutions
- Bachelor's degree in IT, business, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in IT business relationship or a similar role
- Proven track record of delivering IT solutions and services that meet business needs and expectations.
- Strong knowledge of IT project management methodologies, tools, and processes
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate and partner with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to improve and mature organisational practices
- Experienced with planning, estimating, resourcing and working on multiple projects and BAU initiatives simultaneously.
- Advanced knowledge of software development
- Advanced knowledge of analysis methodologies, tools and techniques
- Experience delivering excellent business analysis and support outcomes on large scale transformation projects
