Legal Counsel

We are actively seeking an in-house Legal Counsel who will report to Vista Group’s General Counsel and Company Secretary. This role is responsible for providing sound and timely commercial legal advice and services to all of Vista Group’s global teams. You will be responsible for:

1. Contract drafting/management
2. Commercial negotiation
3. Corporate governance and intellectual property management
4. Instructing and liaising with external professional advisers to the Vista Group companies
5. General compliance, etc.

You will need to be a qualified solicitor with at least four years' experience, ideally in the IT/software/technology space. Your superior drafting, negotiation, analytical and interpersonal skills will be second to none. A desire to form a vital part of a busy legal team and a passion for quality service, as well as an outgoing personality and ability to build relationships, are prerequisites. Minimum Requirements:

1. Legal qualification to a minimum of Bachelor of Laws
2. Current New Zealand practising certificate
3. 4+ years PQE legal experience
4. Excellent technical legal drafting skills in the area of commercial contracts
5. Experience in listed company compliance
6. Experience with software/IT, intellectual property and/or data protection law matters
7. US, UK/EU law and/or listed company experience (advantageous)
