Key Accountabilities:

  1. Algorithm Design: Create and develop advanced digital signal processing algorithms, focusing on filtering, modulation, demodulation, FFT, and more.
  2. Radar Seeker Development: Implement signal processing algorithms to enhance target acquisition, tracking, and classification in radar seeker systems.
  3. Performance Analysis: Analyze signal data and simulate real-time processing to evaluate system performance using MATLAB or Simulink.
  4. System Integration: Integrate DSP algorithms into larger systems, ensuring seamless operation with other sub-systems.
  5. Optimization: Optimize DSP algorithms for real-time processing on embedded hardware, such as FPGAs and DSP chips, while minimizing power consumption and processing load.
  6. Troubleshooting: Identify, debug, and resolve issues related to signal processing for optimal functionality.
  7. Collaboration: Work closely with system engineers to define DSP functional requirements based on system specifications.
  8. Documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including algorithm descriptions and system design specifications.
  9. Compliance: Ensure DSP algorithms and systems meet relevant industry standards, including aerospace and military regulations.
Qualifications:
  1. Education: Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Signal Processing, or a related field.
  2. Fundamentals: Strong understanding of digital signal processing fundamentals, including filtering, Fourier transforms, modulation, and spectral analysis.
  3. Mathematical Proficiency: Advanced skills in mathematics, particularly linear algebra, probability, and discrete-time signal analysis.
  4. Programming Skills: Experience with algorithm development using MATLAB, C/C++, or Python.
  5. Tools Familiarity: Proficient in signal processing tools like MATLAB, GNU Radio, LabVIEW, and DSP development environments such as Xilinx Vivado.
  6. Hardware Knowledge: Understanding of DSP chips, FPGAs, GPUs, or microcontrollers and their integration into systems.
  7. Hands-On Experience: Proven track record in designing, simulating, implementing, and optimizing DSP algorithms for real-world applications, particularly in airborne systems.
  8. Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with military standards and regulatory requirements related to communications and aerospace.
