Director of Information Technology

Job Title: Director of Information Technology Job Overview: American International University (AIU) in Kuwait City seeks a dynamic Director of IT to lead and manage all technology infrastructure, resources, and services. This role involves strategic planning, IT operations oversight, and collaboration with key university divisions to enhance academic and administrative processes through technology. Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage IT infrastructure, including networks, databases, and software systems.
2. Oversee the implementation and utilization of the university’s Information Systems, including Ellucian/Banner.
3. Ensure the security and integrity of data and IT systems.
4. Develop and execute the university’s IT strategic plan in alignment with institutional goals.
5. Provide training and support for faculty, staff, and students on university software and systems.
6. Manage the IT Help Desk and provide technical support for academic and administrative needs.
7. Supervise, train, and evaluate IT staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
8. Manage the department budget, vendor relations, and equipment purchasing.
9. Ensure compliance with IT policies and develop user training programs.

1. Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field required; Master’s preferred.
2. 3-5 years of experience in higher education IT roles, including network, database, and telecommunications management.
3. Experience with Ellucian/Banner or similar student information systems preferred.
4. Proven leadership in IT strategic planning, team management, and vendor negotiations.
5. Strong communication, training, and problem-solving skills.
