Objectives of the Position Global Digital Services is providing its internal partners, the BASF business and service units with innovative and efficient business solutions anywhere in the world with competitive costs globally. The unit Digitalization of Services & Core Systems are supporting mainly BASF service units with differentiated solutions and IT products under a strong agile culture. This means, offering new and innovative services, that help them meet BASF Group growth targets. In the product team Financial Accounting & Reporting you are accountable of consulting our internal business partners (globally) and help them to define the business requirement and to transform it in a solution design. You are responsible for the design, customizing of the specific requirements and to collaborate with others in case of programming or projects. You have first knowledge and understanding of SAP, implementation of new business requirements and understand additionally the responsibility also for operational task, e.g. ticket solving in case of errors. The products handled are General Finance, Asset Accounting and Real Estate Management. The Business Solution Consultant (BSC) is bridging the gap between business and technical sides of an organization, with balanced knowledge of existing technologies. Main Tasks
- Understanding and challenging business requirements, processes, and customer needs, adding value to solutions and matching them with existing tools and technologies.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and deliver analysis reports, solution proposals, and project plans.
- Focus on improving processes and achieving business objectives through effective solution design.
- Advising and supporting the Internal Business Partners (IBP) on more complex business process and IT application issues within the process Area of Finance / Asset Management / Real Estate Management (Financial Accounting & Reporting).
- Execute prototyping/configuration and testing of new business solutions based on dedicated BASF business requirements while ensuring high quality.
- Execution of studies in the preliminary stage of projects including evaluation of Third-Party providers
- Supports and/or steers the formulation of cost estimates for solution design efforts and for all other relevant project phases as integral part of the project life cycle planning process.
- Contribution to projects including collaboration with internal business partners and external providers.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required with preference in Business IT, Business Economics with emphasis on SCM and/or IT or Informatics with an emphasis on Business Economics (Diploma / Master)
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in system development (customizing), maintenance and / or functional support. At least 2 SAP project life cycle implementation experience is desirable
- Good to very good command of English (written and spoken).
- At least 2 – 3 years knowledge and understanding in classical SAP applications (e.g. General Finance, Asset Management or Real Estate Management)
- Business knowledge in the Process Area Finance
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities and to work under pressure.
- Must be able to work independently, must be committed with high sense of responsibility.
- Conflict management skills
- Ability to develop action plans, impact, and resolution options.
- Self-motivated and proactive with initiative to seek for innovative solution.
- Effective human relations and communications skills are important to develop, establish cooperation and rapport with users at all working levels and of different nationalities.
- Fluent language skills in English (written and spoken)
