We are currently searching for a passionate and proactive Sourcing Specialist / Sourcing Manager – Indian Subcontinent to join our team in Sourcing and Business Development. Title: Sourcing Specialist / Sourcing Manager – Indian Subcontinent Function: Sourcing and Business Development Reporting to: Head of Business Development – REDA Chemicals Group Location: Mumbai, India About the Job As a Sourcing Specialist/Manager for the Indian subcontinent, you will play a key role in sourcing raw materials across various industries in India. Your responsibilities will include identifying suitable Indian suppliers, evaluating their products and distribution strategies, and fostering long-term, healthy relationships with these partners. You will collaborate with our sales team across different countries to assess their chemical sourcing needs, recommending, negotiating, and coordinating inquiries with potential Indian suppliers. Additionally, you will motivate our sales team to strengthen and maintain these supplier relationships and assist the Head of Business Development in negotiating agreements with Indian suppliers. You will develop business sourcing plans with the team and conduct close follow-ups, supporting our teams throughout the business process with Indian suppliers. Furthermore, you will attend local exhibitions in India to identify and meet local manufacturers, discover potential partners, and proactively propose leads for business development. A strong knowledge of India’s extensive supplier landscape and a broad understanding of various industries and applications is crucial, including pharmaceutical ingredients, nutraceuticals, food and beverages, home and personal care, animal nutrition and health, paints and coatings, construction, plastics and polymers, rubber and tire, and petrochemicals. Role Functions

  • Source Suppliers: Receive raw material inquiries from our sales team and source the best producers from India using the company’s internal database, online catalogues, exhibitions, trading data, local specialty magazines, etc. Report, evaluate, and interpret the sources you find, providing insights and recommendations through our CRM to help select the best partners for business development.
  • Alternative Sourcing: Assist the sales team in identifying, qualifying, and introducing alternative sources of materials to improve quality, enhance reliability, and reduce costs.
  • Pricing and Conditions: Collaborate with our commercial team to ensure accurate, fair pricing and favorable conditions are maintained.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work effectively across our various Business Teams and within multiple industries and countries to align goals and objectives.
  • Supplier Follow-Up: Establish and maintain strategic relationships with selected suppliers to ensure successful partnerships. Organize and coordinate training sessions with selected suppliers for our sales team as needed.
  • Local Travel and Exhibitions: Travel locally as per business requirements. Attend and participate in events and exhibitions, providing detailed follow-up reports.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze global chemical commodity trends and economic markets to identify opportunities, manage risks, and develop a buying and hedging plan. Stay updated on industry trends, especially within the local Indian manufacturing ecosystem, and report market analysis to the Head of Business Development.
  • CRM Management: Populate and update our CRM with relevant data on each contacted supplier to maintain accurate, shared records.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales, Distribution, Sourcing, and Purchasing of raw materials within the chemical industry.
  • Experience working with both international and local distributors is highly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the Indian manufacturing ecosystem, with strong distribution relationships and familiarity with the chemical specialties sector.
  • Proven ability to identify and source high-quality suppliers, select competitive partners, and build long-term partnerships within the chemical industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petrochemicals, Pharmacy, or a related technical field.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
