Organisation/Company: Universite de MontpellierDepartment: Human ResourcesResearch Field: Engineering » Materials engineering, Physics » Condensed matter properties, Chemistry » Analytical chemistryResearcher Profile: Recognised Researcher (R2)Positions: PhD PositionsCountry: FranceApplication Deadline: 8 Dec 2024 - 23:59 (Europe/Paris)Type of Contract: TemporaryJob Status: Full-timeIs the job funded through the EU Research Framework Programme? Horizon EuropeIs the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? NoOffer DescriptionWork Environment:The main goal of the project is to synthesize single-walled carbon nanotube-based hybrid nanomaterials, and to use them as drug carriers targeting kinase proteins overexpressed in pancreatic cancer. Our research strategy is based mainly on near infrared spectroscopies (absorption and photoluminescence) which allow to prove the dispersion of the nanomaterials in aqueous suspensions, to study the adsorption kinetics of drugs and their release, triggered by laser irradiation.Main Mission:Study and optimisation of the adsorption of drugs on carbon nanotubes, and their controlled release under laser irradiation.Activities:Synthesis of single-walled carbon nanotube-based hybrid nanomaterials.Near infrared spectroscopy (absorption and photoluminescence) studies of the dispersion of the nanomaterials in aqueous suspensions, of the adsorption kinetics of drugs and their release, triggered by laser irradiation. Objective Result Determining the Goal of the Contract:The achievement of vectorization and release of drugs will be validated by the slowing down of the proliferation of cancer cells (in vitro measurements) and by the resorption of tumors on small animals (in vivo measurements).Interactions: Interactions with the biochemistry team of May Morris at IBMM.Where to ApplyEmail: eric.anglaret@umontpellier.frRequirementsResearch Field: PhysicsEducation Level: PhD or equivalentSkills/Qualifications:PhD in materials sciences and/or physics and/or chemistry, experience in the synthesis of hybrid nanomaterials and near infrared spectroscopy.
