Our friendly Environmental Services team are seeking an Animal Control Officer. The hours of work for this position are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Responding to request for service/complaints as per legislative and bylaw requirements
- Undertake investigations of complaints and provide written report/recommendations to team leader/manager
- Undertake compliance/enforcement actions including impounding dogs, property inspections, infringements
- Animal husbandry including cleaning, feeding and exercising dogs at the Animal Control Facility
- Provide education and advice to dog owners and non-dog owners
- Experience in a regulatory/compliance role
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of dog and animal behaviour
- Great communication with the ability to deal with difficult or confrontational situations
- Investigation skills, experience working with legislation and report writing would be an advantage
