Role in the organization:

We're looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic to join our team, someone with extensive knowledge of heavy vehicle repairs. We need someone who can quickly and efficiently diagnose faults and make effective repairs.

Our requirements:

Professional experience as a Heavy-Duty Truck Mechanic

Knowledge of vehicle mechanics

Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults

Practical experience in heavy truck repairs

Good work organization and ability to work independently

Knowledge of specialized workshop equipment operation

Ability to work in a team

Your responsibilities:

Performing inspection and repairs of heavy-duty vehicles / Truck & Buses i.e. IVECO, ASHOK LEYLAND etc.

Performing work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards

Communicating with parts department to obtain needed parts

Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults

Performing technical inspections

Adjusting and replacing mechanical and electronic components

Determining causes of breakdowns and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

Operation and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment

Adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing any defective parts

Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other maintenance work

Diagnosing malfunctions or problems using a computerized system or testing equipment to determine the root cause of any issues

Repairing and verifying any emission control systems

Performing basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires

Repairing or replacing worn parts, such as brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors

Performing repairs to manufacturer and customer specifications

Examining assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended to the Workshop Supervisor / Manager

Communicating with service advisor / Supervisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.

Documenting all work performed and recommended on the repair order / Job Card

Participating in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.

Keeping abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins

Keeping the workshop area neat and clean

Maintaining and being accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returning them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.

Reporting machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor

Reporting any safety issues immediately to management.

Other tasks as assigned.

Education:

Higher diploma (Preferred)

ITI Qualification (Technician/Mechanic)

Automotive / Mechanical Eng. Diploma

Experience:

Auto MECHANIC (Heavy Vehicles / Truck & Bus) in Dealership: 5 to 8 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Auto Mechanic Certificate (Preferred)
