Job Description: Bilingual Speech and Language Pathologist

Location: Doha, Qatar

Position Overview:SEND is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bilingual Speech and Language Pathologist (Arabic & English) to join a Doha SEND School team starting in October 2024. This role is crucial in providing tiered support for students with diverse and complex needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and significant feeding, swallowing, and medical challenges. You will identify students with communication disorders through testing, provide detailed assessments and recommendations, deliver therapy, and support both students and staff with strategies and training.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech and language abilities, with a particular focus on feeding and swallowing challenges.

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans tailored to students' specific needs.

Provide direct therapy services to students, including one-on-one, small group, and large group instruction.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other specialists to create and maintain an inclusive educational environment.

Provide training and support to school staff on speech and language development and interventions.

Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.

Use data-driven approaches to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust strategies as necessary.

Advocate for and promote best practices in speech and language therapy within the educational setting.

Support the wider community through outreach services including educational evaluations and therapy.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree or postgraduate certification in Speech and Language Pathology or a related field.

Certified and/or licensed as a Speech and Language Pathologist, with expertise in working with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and/or complex SEND preferred.

A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant full-time experience in speech and language pathology.

Proven experience working with Complex SEND learners in various instructional settings.

Proficiency in feeding and swallowing assessment and intervention.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Arabic & English.

Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in MS Office applications and clinical documentation platforms.

Thorough understanding of evidence-based supports and interventions.

Demonstrated ability to use data to inform and guide therapeutic interventions.

Experience working effectively with adult learners and in collaborative team environments.
