Job Title: Fashion Designer – Indian Couture Location: Delhi NCR Experience : 0-4 Years About the Role: Join the prestigious Gaurav Gupta India Couture team and bring your creativity to life by designing stunning pieces that merge traditional Indian craftsmanship with modern luxury. As part of our couture division, you’ll collaborate with the Creative Director to design exquisite Lehengas, Sarees, Gowns, and Saree Gowns, focusing on intricate Indian embroidery techniques like Zardozi and Aari. If you have a deep love for Indian textiles and are passionate about creating the next big trend in couture, this role is for you! What You’ll Do:
- Set the Vision: Research global and local trends, then create mood boards that inspire the direction of our Indian couture line.
- Concept & Sketch: Ideate, brainstorm, and sketch out fresh designs that blend tradition and innovation.
- Fabric & Embroidery Sourcing: Hunt down the perfect fabrics and embroidery materials that align with our brand’s DNA.
- Sample Development: Oversee the entire sample development process, working closely with the team to bring your designs to life.
- Digital & Hand Artworks: Create artwork and detailed sketches both digitally and by hand, ready for production.
- Toile Development: Collaborate with the Masters to produce precise toiles that set the foundation for the final garments.
- Surface Development: Innovate with hand and machine embroidery techniques to add depth and detail to each piece.
- A degree in Design from top institutions like NIFT, NID, FIT-NYC, or LCF/CSM-London.
- 0-4 years of experience working with a couture house in the design department.
- A keen understanding of Indian embroideries like Zardozi and Aari, and strong knowledge of Indian textiles.
- An out-of-the-box thinker who can marry traditional embroidery techniques with contemporary couture designs.
- Proficiency in Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-player mentality.
