Deadline for CVs: 16-SEP-2024 at 9AM Qatar timeJob title: Lead Instrument & Controls Engineer (I&C)Assignment type: ContractContract duration: 3 years (with possibility to extend)Work location: Qatar OnshoreWork schedule: 6 days per week, 10 hours per dayKey AccountabilitiesLead the instrument & control engineering activities for Offshore Project, ensuring technical requirements (e.g., project specifications, data sheets, etc.) fully comply with project deliverables and standardised processes and to provide Functional Safety design support to Project pipeline engineering manager ensuring all aspects are delivered to the highest standards.Ensure that the Contractor's instrument, control and telecom topsides, onshore facilities (offshore scope) engineering, and gas and MEG pipeline designs comply with the Contract requirements including codes and standards. Provide guidance to the contractor to promote compliance.Plan and schedule the I&C engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with Company operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system.Supervise and ensure that the Contractor's functional safety of onshore facilities (offshore scope) engineering and pipeline designs comply with the Contract requirements including codes and standards. Provide guidance to the contractor to promote compliance.Participate in key design workshops and ensure that instrument, control, functional safety design recommendations are correctly implemented, and actions closed before the end of EPCI (lessons learned, value engineering, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, engineering criticality assessment, etc.).Supervise the engineering interface between the instrument, control and telecom of onshore facilities (offshore scope) and pipeline engineering and the following teams: operations, drilling, well management, jacket, topsides from the pipelines perspective, the onshore project team.Support the Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) purchase order with the EPC Contractor and system Vendor in accordance with the roles and responsibilities given in the contract to ensure safe and seamless integration of the systems without any disturbance to the existing operating facilities.Support Project's pipeline engineering manager in monitoring the contractor's progress on delivery of the required documents in the instrument control and telecom of pipeline discipline.Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with respect to the disciplines involved in delivery of the instrument control and telecoms related to pipelines engineering and ensure endorsement of process technical deviations to Company specifications when required.Ensure compliance with management of change procedures for changes in the contractors design or deviations from the company directives.QualificationsMinimum Bachelor's Engineering degree/diploma in related fields.10+ years of relevant experience as Instrument and Controls Lead, in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry and having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.Experience working on subsea and onshore pipeline systems.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English.Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications.Good knowledge of electrical, instrument, telecom, piping, and mechanical equipment.
