Please visit our website for more information about us. About the role As the Director, Quality and Standards, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Office’s audit methodologies.
- Developing, implementing, and advising on a framework of Office audit quality standards, policies, and procedures that meet the requirements of standards issued by the AUASB.
- Overseeing and providing expert accounting and auditing advice, support, and delivery of technical training.
- Leading and overseeing a program of supporting quality assurance processes and conducting quality assurance reviews.
- Managing and leading a team of professionals.
- Contributing to the achievement of the corporate objectives of the Office.
- Extensive audit and accounting knowledge and experience, including interpreting accounting and auditing standards, legislation, government standards, frameworks, and policies.
- Expert knowledge of audit methodology and modern auditing techniques.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including building and managing networks and producing comprehensive reports on complex matters in a clear and succinct manner.
- A significant level of independent judgment to resolve complex problems, working under very broad direction and exercising creative and strategic thinking.
- Key leadership role working closely with the Executive team driving the Office’s audit methodologies and quality assurance processes.
- Flexible work arrangements including flexitime and work from home.
- An appropriate degree, as recognised by the Auditor-General.
- Membership of a professional accounting body, as recognised by the Auditor-General.
- Australian citizenship or Australian permanent residency at the time of applying.
- The successful candidate will need to pass a national criminal history check.
