Operations Manager

About us Fruitico Farms are a joint venture with the Fresh Produce Group. Collectively we are one of Australia's largest fresh produce organisations, with a passion for innovation and high-quality produce. Our beautiful table grape farms are across three locations in Western Australia: Coolup, Hamel, and Broome. During various times of the year we have many workers at each of the farms diligently harvesting, packing, pruning, and spraying, amongst many other things. To find out more about us visit: About the role We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to join our packing shed team. You will be leading and managing all activities within our packing shed facility, which specialises in cooling, packing, and dispatching table grapes to both domestic and international markets. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Overseeing day-to-day operations of the packing shed, including receipt, cooling, lidding, and dispatch processes.
• Planning, coordinating, and scheduling the receipt, storage, and dispatch of table grapes.
• Developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ensuring that all products are packed according to customer specifications.
• Managing inventory of product, packing materials, and supplies.
• Ensuring all operations adhere to national and international compliance standards related to food safety, workplace safety, ethical trading initiatives, and external auditing body requirements.
• Managing the packing shed’s operational budget, including labour, materials, and overhead costs.
• Leading and mentoring a team of supervisors, warehouse staff, and contracted staff.
• Managing workforce scheduling to meet seasonal demand fluctuations.

Fresh produce is a seasonal industry so your responsibilities may vary depending on the time of year. Outside of the table grape harvest period, the incumbent will be required to lead the imported table grape program and other logistics/operational activities at the Fruitico site as well as at other FPG locations within the greater Perth region. About you You will be experienced and self-motivated. This role requires strong leadership in managing logistics operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards, and driving financial performance. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations to optimise productivity and maintain high standards of product quality. We are looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

• Experience working in warehousing, operations, or logistics.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• A can-do attitude and excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills and time management.
• Computer savvy.
• Forklift license (desirable).
• Experience working in the produce industry (desirable).
