The Opportunity

WSP is currently seeking a Site Inspector to join our Land Development and Municipal Engineering Team, located at our Kingston office. Reporting to a Senior Technical Engineer, this position will be responsible for the field review of construction projects to ensure Quality Assurance is obtained for municipal engineering and land development projects. This role will also include surveying and contract administration. The opportunity will have a focus on local projects within Kingston and surrounding areas.

What you'll bring to WSP…

Graduated from a three (3) year college program in Civil Engineering Technology or an equivalent program;

Eligible to obtain Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation, or interested in obtaining C.E.T. designation;

A minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience in the inspection of large, multi-discipline and/or heavy construction capital projects, site developments and subdivision projects with respect to grading, servicing, utilities and roadway construction;

Knowledge of City of Kingston Design Standards and specifications;

Previous experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D would be considered an asset;

Must have sound knowledge of construction inspection and management principles, practices and techniques;

Must have a good understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, and regulations for construction projects;

Must possess sound judgement; strong organizational, administrative, observational and problem-solving skills;

Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications;

Comprehensive knowledge of Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications (OPSS) and Ontario Provincial Standard Drawings (OPSD);

Valid Ontario driver's license.
