**General Role Description**:

A cloud security architect builds, designs, and installs systems for cloud-based computing and data storage systems. He is responsible for assessing and testing existing cloud computing security systems and creating firewalls, improving network security, and encrypting data to secure the system further.

**Main Duties**:

**1.** **Cloud Network Architecture**:

- Design and implement scalable and resilient cloud network architectures across various platforms.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between network design and business objectives.

**2. Security Infrastructure**:

- Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies for cloud-based infrastructure.

- Define and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.

**3. Network Security**:

- Design and implement secure network configurations, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.

**4. Identity and Access Management (IAM)**:

- Design and implement robust IAM solutions to manage user access and permissions in the cloud environment.

- Ensure proper authentication, authorization, and auditing mechanisms are in place.

**5. Incident Response**:

- Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures for cloud-based systems.

- Lead incident response activities in the event of a security breach.

**6. Cloud Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) in the design and operation of cloud networks.

- Keep abreast of changes in regulations and update security practices accordingly.

**7. Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and operations teams to integrate security best practices into the development lifecycle.

**8. Documentation**:

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network and security architecture, policies, and procedures.

- Conduct training sessions to educate teams on security best practices.

**Skills**:

**1. **Network Expertise: Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VPN technologies.

**2.** Security Expertise: In-depth understanding of cloud security best practices, encryption, and access control.

**3.** Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

**4.** Firewall and IDS/IPS: Experience in configuring and managing firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

**5.** VPC Management: Knowledge of Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) setup and management.

**6.** IAM: Expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies and controls.

**7.** VPN Configuration: Ability to configure secure VPN connections.

**8.** Network Monitoring: Familiarity with network monitoring and security tools.

**9.** Incident Response: Experience in developing and executing incident response plans.

**10. **Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of cloud security compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR).

**11.** Load Balancing: Knowledge of load balancing techniques and solutions.

**12.** Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

**13.** Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

**14.**Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

- Minimum 5 years of cloud security experience, focusing on designing and implementing secure cloud computing solutions.

- A strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).

- Knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and CIS Controls.

- Familiarity with cloud security platforms like Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform.

- Certifications such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Cloud Architect (CCA) are preferred.

- Excellent communication skills.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Doha: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
