Responsibilities Teamwork and collaboration Good communication at all levels Commitment to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community Working alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet the requirements of the curriculum Liaising with colleagues professionally and working flexibly Working with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all students Cooperating with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support student development Acting as a form tutor and supporting the pastoral needs of students A clear understanding of the British curriculum from Year 6 to Year 8 - must have subject knowledge and ability to effectively plan and teach Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 Mathematics Organising classroom provision, learning resources, and creating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment Planning, preparing, and presenting sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the classes taught Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching Observing and assessing children in line with the school assessment policy Being reflective of the classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjusting environment, planning, and curriculum to reflect this Ensuring the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are being embedded throughout the curriculum Taking responsibility for the progress of classes taught Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of students' development using the school's designated assessment system Using data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision, and intervention Providing feedback to parents and carers on a student's progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings Following the school's Behaviour Policy Managing classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students' needs in order to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils Maintaining good relationships with pupils, exercising appropriate authority, and acting decisively when necessary within the school's Behaviour Policy Being a positive role model and demonstrating consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils Having high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence of all learners Ensuring the Mamoura Values DNA language and attitudes are being embedded throughout the curriculum Carrying out duties as directed and within the school's policy Working as part of a department team, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to that team Supporting the organising and taking part in school events, outings, and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening Communicating effectively with parents/carers regarding students' achievements and well-being using school systems/processes such as CPOMS as appropriate Making a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school Running a weekly ECA Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or equivalent Minimum Experience Minimum 2 years teaching experience in English National Curriculum with Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 experience Job Specific Knowledge & Skills Outstanding teacher Teaching across the age ability range with proven success Experience of working in more than one International School desirable Experience of teaching the UK National Curriculum Strong inter-personal skills Commitment to the MBA Vision and Mission Statement Passion for education, teaching, and a belief in the potential of every student The ability to work under pressure, problem-solve, and be resilient Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD)
