Independently develops methods and solutions for engineering design and construction of tunnel works for water infrastructure including deep sewer trunk lines via microtunneling, large diameter tunnels using tunnel boring machines.Employs a wide variety of tunnel engineering methods, applying geotechnical and structural engineering techniques and analysis to deliver design projects.Selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the various design engineering requirements on medium to large infrastructure-related projects or studies.Assists the PM in further detailing the PMP into a more comprehensive Project Implementation Plan (PIP), identifying specific procedures that will address the tunneling-related requirements of a project.Assists in preparing a Design Management Plan, employing innovative new engineering methods, techniques, and technologies applicable to tunneling works. Proactively implements these Plans in the course of delivery of the project.Provides technical advice to team members on topics involving wastewater, wastewater treatment plants, sewer trunk lines, deep sewer interceptors via micro-tunneling, and deep large diameter sewer tunnels via Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) as required, thereby improving design coordination and interface with other disciplines.Interfaces with Geotechnical Engineers and Structural Engineers to review and draw relevant engineering inputs and parameters from Geotechnical Investigation Reports necessary to design tunnel projects in accordance with Client/Project requirements.Serves as a resource person for in-house training sessions or peer-reviewer along the lines of technical expertise or in engineering design project management for tunneling projects involving wastewater, sewer trunk lines, deep sewer interceptors via micro-tunneling, and deep large diameter sewer tunnels via Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM).Minimum Requirements:Degree in Civil Engineering or related subject from a Major University and preferably with a Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering. Must be a Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent status.15 years of work experience in infrastructure engineering design, particularly tunneling networks with progressively increasing responsibility. At least 10 years of recent similar design experience and 7 years as technical lead.Qualified professional who can lead and coordinate specialized activity, discipline, or team of moderate size and complexity. Leads in the formulation of advanced technical concepts.Provides specialist services in support of project requirements. Independently performs highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the applications of specialized principles.Proficient in computer applications for engineering design (CAE/CAD) of tunnel systems.Highly experienced in the implementation of engineering design and/or construction supervision Quality Management Systems.Highly experienced technical specialist in water/wastewater/infrastructure capable of providing expert advice on complex technical matters requiring world-class expertise, especially in deep sewer interceptors/tunnels and wastewater treatment plants.Working in the Gulf region is preferred.Excellent spoken and written English is a must.About The Company:Parsons is a leader in many diverse markets such as infrastructure, transportation, water, telecommunications, aviation, commercial, environmental, planning, industrial manufacturing, education, healthcare, life sciences, and homeland security.Parsons provides technical and management solutions to federal, regional and local government agencies as well as private industries worldwide.
