IMI2673 - Supervisor (SME) - Steel Cutting & Sub-assembly Job Family Ships Contract Type Direct Location Business Line Workshop Production Department Steel Cutting & Sub-assembly Closing Date 14-Aug-2024 Supervisor (SME) - Steel Cutting & Sub-assemblyTo work closely together with the shop manager and the team to ensure that all assigned projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget in accordance with the contract and International Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS).KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESEnsure all assigned works are executed safely on time.Ensure that all technical drawings and documentation, such as nesting drawing, production drawing and marking is followed.Determining the appropriate cutting equipment or method based on requirements.When engaging in any activity, ensure that you have a valid work permit (Hot/Cold/Isolation, etc.).Attend safety and daily toolbox meetings and under the risk involved with the job.Perform the cutting according to the operating manual and following the drawings.Monitor materials usage to ensure possible shortages are identified and addressed at the earliest possible opportunity.Ability and follow cutting preparations and examine finished cutting and ensure they meet standards for excellence.Inspect the equipment and tools they use while performing their job and maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSES) responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONSDiploma degree or equivalent qualification (Cutting apprentice)Technical Certification in the related fieldEXPERIENCEAt least 12-15 years' experience in the Offshore and Ship Construction, Shipyard/Ship repair Industry.Familiar with the common cutting types: auto cutting, manual cutting and marking.Knowledge and Experience in using electrical or manual tools.Inspecting materials, cutting equipment and tools.Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (such as face- shield, gloves etc.,)Understanding of various cutting processes, nesting drawing, productiondrawing, as well as cutting and grinding and bending operations.Must be able to collaborate with other departments and communicate results and concerns to the project management team.Work under pressure and drive a team to completion against aggressive timelines and work scopes.About Application ProcessIf you meet the criteria and you are enthusiastic about the role, we would welcome yourapplication.Tocomplete the application you would need the following document(s):
