Legal Counsel

Key Responsibilities:
Review and negotiate contracts in French and English, including framework agreements and commercial contracts;
Conduct legal research on banking regulations, data protection, consumer laws, and other relevant topics with a particular focus on the African market;
Advise on regulatory and compliance issues, particularly regarding telecommunication and banking products;
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of African regulations, and apply this expertise to relevant contracts and operations;
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to support business objectives and ensure legal compliance;
Provide legal support on corporate law matters as needed;
Qualifications:
Master of Laws (LLM) or other relevant legal degree;
2 to 4 years of experience in legal practice, with a focus on commercial contract negotiation;
Fluency in both French and English is mandatory;
Understanding of data protection laws (including the GDPR), consumer laws, and banking regulations;
Prior experience or knowledge of telecommunications or fintech industries is highly desirable;
Familiarity with African regulations is a significant asset;
Experience with corporate law is a plus;
