Job Title: Senior Shipping Operations Officer - Chemicals

Dept.: Marketing/Petrochemicals

Primary Purpose of the Job

Perform & supervise all activities, formalities and tasks related to shipment of containerised, liquid, gaseous, and/or dry cargo products to customers and troubleshoot post-shipment activities. Coordinate product movements with Producers (PE's)/remote warehouses/hub operators/and other logistics contracted vendors.

Principal Tasks/Accountabilities

- Supervise activities of subordinates and get involved in the different administrative tasks of the department including but not limited to evaluate the performance of subordinates, allocate work to team members and manage leave to ensure efficiency, develop and periodically review the procedures for shipping, liaise with IT and other stakeholders for system enhancements and upgrades, participate in tasks related to RC certification as required, etc.

- Work closely with the designated stakeholders i.e Marketing, PE, Service providers, etc. to ensure monthly lifting schedule and customers' requirements are met effectively and efficiently without compromising PE's production plan. This includes shipments from the respective PE's within Qatar and / overseas warehouses and hubs.

- Involve in running supply chain related tenders, collect necessary inputs, conduct pre-tender meetings/bidder technical qualification, ensure compliance with approved procurement processes and procedures, secure all internal endorsements, and participate in techno-commercial evaluation prior to tender award.

- Monitor the performance of the contracted service providers/vendors to ensure performance is as per contract and / or set performance KPIs

- Investigate and submit reports on any claims/accident/incident occurred during the transportation of the shipped products, and maintain incident log and assist HSSE specialist in identifying root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions as prescribed under the Policy.

- Executes post-shipment tasks, prepare reports, handling day-to-day shipment queries from Marketing / Trade Finance / LME / Agents / Warehouse operators / LSP's.

- Attending and participating in meetings with PE's, customers, authorities, other functional departments for strategic as well as operational level discussions.

- Assist in all new activities and initiatives, to fulfil overall targets set out for the department, find and make improvements in every aspect of the supply chain.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business, Marketing, Engineering or related discipline.

- Certification in Shipping, Logistics and Supply Chain is preferred.

- 8-10 years of experience in shipping

- Customer service focus.

- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Knowledge of Procurement, Contracts, and Project Management basics.

- Working knowledge with SAP or relevant software.

- High computer literacy skills.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in English.

- Team working skills.

- Detailed knowledge of principles, policies, procedures, and internal processes pertaining to corporate and business planning services.

- Knowledge and understanding of the Oil and Gas industry.
