Dukhan English School is the true definition of a community school, where all are welcome. We are a vibrant and dynamic group of professionals within a supportive and encouraging community. DES, founded in the early 1950s, is a not-for-profit school owned and operated by QatarEnergy.
The school serves the Dukhan township, comprising a diverse community of more than 40 nationalities. Our new purpose-built campus spans 27 acres with state-of-the-art learning environments including an 800-seat auditorium, an assembly hall for 1500 people, 3 sports halls, state of the art Science labs, peripatetic music rooms, outdoor swimming pool and an all-weather pitch.

We are seeking an outstanding Psychology professional who will:
- Be a reflective practitioner, committed to professional growth and development.
- Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues to support the development of the curriculum and meet the needs of all learners across the school.
- Provide classroom experiences centred around challenge and engagement for all students.
- Have knowledge and experience of using evidence based pedagogical approaches within the classroom, to stretch and challenge all learners.
- Be skilled in the use of both formative and summative assessment approaches.
- Provide critical analysis of the progress, intervention and achievement for all children.
- Has relevant experience of teaching Psychology at KS5 / A Level.
- Has engaged with current pedagogy around Psychology education, in particular supporting EAL students and/or inclusive teaching practices, in-line with the Quality First Teaching model.
- Understands how to sequence, resource, adapt and refine areas of the Psychology curriculum to meet the needs of all learners.

**1. General Information**
Dukhan English School (DES) is one of the oldest international schools in the Middle East tracing its origins back to the early 1950s.
DES provides education for the children of QatarEnergy employees who live in Dukhan.

We currently have over 1200 students aged 3 to 18 years with over 100 teachers and support staff at the school, predominantly British trained.
**There are five sections to the school**:
EYFS, age 3-5 (PreNursery-Reception)
Key Stage 1, age 5-7 (Years 1-2)
Key Stage 2, age 7-11 (Years 3 - 6)
Key Stage 3, age 11-14 (Years 7- 9) Key Stage 4 age 14-16 (Years 10 -11)
Sixth Form, age 16-18 (Years 12 - Year 13)
The academic year mirrors the British system of three terms, beginning in September. Local religious and QP holidays are observed. The school week runs from Sunday to Thursday, the weekend being Friday and Saturday. For teachers the school day begins at 6.45am and finishes at approximately 2.30pm, unless staff have other commitments, CPD sessions and after-school clubs.
