Director - Quality and Patient SafetyQatarJob Identification: 2690Job Category: Enabling Function: AdminLocations: QatarPosting Date: 10/12/2024, 07:24 AMApply Before: 10/26/2024, 07:24 AMDegree Level: Master's DegreeJob Schedule: Full timeJob DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:The Director - Quality and Patient Safety serves as a highly visible, energetic leader and champion for quality and safety, working collaboratively across the organization. This role is responsible for the leadership and operational management of the quality and patient safety programs.KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:Support the development and implementation of Clinical Governance framework and develop and implement the Patient Safety and quality improvement plan.Provide direction/support to clinical and corporate services to meet standards/MOPH obligations in relation to investigations of all adverse events, including sentinel events, with regular updates to the CEO/CET/Quality Committee.Deliver and manage Quality and Safety assurance programs across Sidra Medicine to ensure high quality, safe, and effective services.Make recommendations for service improvement and monitor implementation through appropriate reporting.Lead the Patient Safety Culture Survey and improvement plans associated with benchmarked outcomes.Identify patient care quality improvement goals and objectives and lead safety/quality/performance improvement initiatives.Ensure clinical services are provided in accordance with established standards through Qatar regulations and TJC/JCI accreditation standards.Work closely with the Director of Informatics and other stakeholders to ensure organizational compliance with required KPIs and mandated quality indicators.Prepare annual reports and consult with Sidra's Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, Board of Governors, and the Qatar Ministry of Public Health regarding Patient Safety and Performance Improvement Program.Create and communicate a shared vision of a high-quality health care service.Support the organization-wide performance improvement program including Infection Control, Peer Review, Patient Safety, Patient Satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory requirements.Regularly communicate performance improvement and quality/safety activities to leadership and staff.Oversee the design of safe clinical systems, processes, policies, and procedures.Lead the delivery/achievement of JCI Quality and Patient safety standards (QPS).Ensure accurate and timely submission of all required data for quality reporting programs.Create a continuous learning environment focused on patient and team member safety.Adhere to Sidra's standards as outlined in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.Promote Sidra's Values.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:ESSENTIALMaster's Degree in a relevant Healthcare field.Bachelor's Degree in a clinical discipline (Nursing, Medicine, or Allied Health).EXPERIENCE10+ years of experience with progressive responsibilities in a relevant field, including:8+ years of Healthcare, Quality, Safety experience preferred.5-7 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.Experience in project development, project management, and strong analytical skills required.Knowledge of clinical quality, patient safety, and/or patient satisfaction performance measures.Expert knowledge of performance improvement models and systems.CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred and required within 6 months of hire.Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS).PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP:Membership in recognized Quality Organizations such as ISQUA.JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Demonstrated advanced leadership ability.Outstanding knowledge pertaining to Quality, Patient Safety, and Patient Experience.Ability to analyze financial statements and manage financial resources.Excellent change management skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.Fluency in written and spoken English.About UsSidra Medicine represents the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation.
