Job Description

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing the Marine operation & fleet of 50 seated Catamarans, 3 Patrol boats and 1 Pontoon boat.
Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager.
Liaise with Training Manager and Operation Manager for the training of Boat Skippers, Crews and Marine Hostesses.
Rostering, leave management and performance record of Boat captains, Crews, Marine Hostesses, Marina Team & Admin.
Inspecting the seaworthiness of all vessels.
Ensuring navigation/communication equipment are in operational condition.
Implementing & monitoring proper grooming and hygiene standards for Skippers, Boat Crew & Marine Hostesses as per company standard.
Making inventory and replenishment of all consumable items.
Keeping record of boat equipment and tools.
Tracking and monitoring all vessels.
Keeping record of all boat maintenance (mechanical, electrical, navigation and electronic equipment).
Ensuring boat schedules are carried out as per Company’s standard.
Ensuring all vessels are cleaned and maintained as per set standards without fail at all times.
Sole contact for entire marine operations.
Ensuring all boat assets are mechanically safe and clean.
Overseeing safety drills and rescue including sea trials.
Assessing and making decisions during bad weather conditions.
Liaises with local authorities and coordinates with third party companies regarding repair and maintenance with the technical team for the entire fleet such as:
1. Antifouling
2. Hull cleaning
3. Dry docking
4. Proper disposal of backwater and grey water
5. Boat engine and generators periodic maintenance
6. Air-conditioning equipment
7. Safety equipment
8. Distress kits
9. Boat retrieval and rescue
10. Coordinating with coastguard and port authorities
11. Coordinating with engine/boat supplier

Qualifications 5-10 years Solid marina/marine background. Has a valid license of the following but not limited to:

Yacht master/COC – 2nd mate or above
Diving
Any marine/marina certification (CMM & AMM/IMM)

Familiar with the navigation charts in Middle East especially in Qatar and borders. Familiar with navigation routes to other marinas in Qatar. Well versed in Maritime rules and regulation. Customer/guest service oriented. Decision maker and a problem solver.
