Job DescriptionJob Summary:The Data Pipeline Support Engineer will assist in troubleshooting and ensuring successful completion of ETL jobs executing within Health Catalyst's Data Operating System (DOS) during US nighttime hours. This role will ensure timeliness and integrity of the data loading into clients' data warehouses. The Data Pipeline Support Engineer will be in an On Call rotation during US nighttime hours that resolves ETL failures and tries to root cause ETL issues and resolve the issues from occurring in the future. Duties & ResponsibilitiesMonitor daily loads executing in our client's data warehousesBecome familiar and experts with Health Catalyst's Data Operating System and how to use the tools to set up queries and schedule and execute Data Pipeline jobsIdentify Azure/SQL Server performance issues and identify ways to improve themCommunicate regularly with fellow Health Catalyst team members in both Operations and EngineeringParticipate in an On Call rotation and will be offering support resolving ETL failures during US nighttime hours and also offer support around long running ETL jobs. Answer and resolve support tickets around ETL FailuresRequired SkillsExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to learn new tools quicklyExperience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuningGood written and verbal communication skillsExperience with tuning Azure/SQL Server queries and how to read execution plansExperience with Indexes in SQL Server and understand how to manage the various indexes (clustered, non-clustered, columnstore)Strong SQL skillsInformation Security and Compliance Responsibilities Maintain compliance with training directives required by the organization pertaining to Information Security, Acceptable Use Policy and HIPAA Privacy and Security.Adhere to and comply with the organizations Acceptable Use Policy.Safeguard information system assets by identifying and reporting potential and actual security events to the organizations Security and Compliance Officers.
