(7-12 years) or Diploma (10-15 years) in Mechanical Engineering with experience of working in industrial electronics industry preferably Energy Metering in the respective domainJob Location-Kolkata (WFO).Job Responsibilities: -Design and development of smart meter products including communication modules as per Indian metering standards (IS) and IEC standards.Prototype development and verification for design complianceDFA and DFM with suppliers for plastic and metal partsWorking closely with hardware designers, layout engineers for hardware-mechanical integrationCreation of 2D drawings of components, sub-assemblies and products.Performing tolerance analysis for part and assembly levelMaterial selection for plastic and metal parts as per product requirementVerification and validation of parts & sub-assembly and product.Skills:-Design and development of plastic & metal parts for electro-mechanical products.Expertise in the use of 3D modelling software Preferred (Solidworks).Knowledge of mold flow result interpretation & basic mold designExperience of working closely with local and global suppliers for prototypes and design optimization.In-depth understanding of Machining parts, Surface treatments, finish / coatings (Metals), joining techniques viz. Soldering, Brazing, Riveting, Crimping, and other manufacturing processes.Knowledge of good drafting practice including geometric tolerance processes, and technologies.Knowledge of IS and IEC standards related to smart meters will be preferred.Knowledge of Material Selection PRB
