The Global Account Director ("GAD") helps create long-term impact for EDC customers.The GAD identify business opportunities, increases the capability of EDC's customers to compete in global export markets and builds relationships that increase capabilities of EDC customers to have success in multiple markets. EDC's Canadian Corporate Business Development Team services large Canadian corporates with an existing and expanding global footprint that require international financing and insurance solutions, as well as trade connections and knowledge support. To succeed in this role, the GAD must develop a trust-based and partnered relationship with their clients, leading to a deep understanding of their clients' current and evolving international business needs. The GAD has ultimate accountability for the overall relationship of each assigned account and leads the development of tailored solutions, as required. In managing the assigned accounts, the GAD will influence and provide insight to a dedicated internal virtual account team of business, service and knowledge specialists who support the overall relationship. As such, we are looking for an experienced and motivated professional with relevant business development expertise to drive value and impact for Canadian companies in this segment. This position reports to the Director, Canadian Corporate Business Development Team, Resources & Diversified. Key Responsibilities Service existing large segment clients' trade needs with EDC's value-add financial and non-financial products and services. Identifies, creates and develops new business opportunities with both current and potentialclients and partners. Assesses export financing, risk management and other client needs, and matches solutions to these needs. Actively manages senior management relationships (CFO, Treasurer) with assigned existing large segment clients and prospects. Provides leadership to a dedicated virtual account team for each large segment account composed of product, service and knowledge specialists who have shared responsibility for the development and implementation of strategies to expand each account relationship. Accountable for the overall client relationship of each assigned account and leads the development and delivery of tailored solutions. Maintains and expands relationship networks within client and prospect organizations. Represent EDC at key industry events/conferences (speaking or panel engagement). Be a Thought Leader internally for an industry group to help develop wider corporate sector strategies. Screening Criteria Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or relevant field Minimum 10 years of business development experience, including client relationship management with a focus on international financing transactions, gained through corporate, trade and/or investment banking roles. Recent and relevant experience in one or more of the following sectors, such as: Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, Transportation, Forestry, Mining or other sectors. Advanced knowledge of best practices in strategic account management Knowledge of corporate capital raising instruments utilized by prospects and clients along with market forces driving utilization of each of them. Demonstrate the ability to understand the client's strategy, a deep understanding of potential solutions and influence the end solution working with various functional teams. An existing, established, professional network of corporate and financial relationships. Assets Bilingual in both official languages (English and French) Knowledge of international business practices and international trade Salary Range Business Development 19: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $107,132 to $178,552 plus a performance based incentive. Location Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment. This role will be performed from EDC's headquarters in Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
