The Head of Construction

The Head of Construction shall provide the leadership and construction expertise for ONSHORE BUILDINGS & INFRASTRUCTURE COMPRESSION PROJECT which involves Onshore buildings - OCC (Onshore Collaborative Center), OLB (Onshore Logistic Base), and associated brownfield works. This position is located at the Site to provide construction expertise and monitoring to ensure compliance with the approved construction sequence and a seamless transition with the pre-commissioning, then commissioning activities.

The position shall interact daily with the construction team and counterparts in the Contractor organization. Leadership and "work as a team" behavior and attitude towards Contractor and its Subcontractors to achieve Project objectives.

Support the EPC PMTs for construction execution, risk-based evaluation of complex technical issues, ensuring construction deliverables (Method Statements/ JSA & JHA) are compliant with project requirements, while meeting the required COMPANY quality expectations. Must be able to manage the respective priorities, drivers, and challenges of the stakeholders while maintaining a focus on their respective objectives.

Ensure there is quality, effectiveness, and consistency in the Construction processes, systems, procedures, and work products. Ensure that there is sufficient and balanced resources and technical expertise available to support the Construction Execution. Ensure there is efficiency in resource deployment to support the Construction Execution activities.

Manage multiple internal and external interfaces across the COMPANY and EPC Contractors - require effective communication, initiative, flexibility, and collaboration.

Responsible for leading various building construction scopes which involve multi-disciplinary construction activities such as Civil/architectural, Steel Structures, HVAC, Mechanical, Piping, E&I, and Brownfield Tie-ins.

Ensure that the Contractor and Subcontractors are compliant with project safety expectations, policies, and procedures.

Steward the development of an Integrated Safety Plan for construction, including SIMOPS for all brownfield works.

Responsible and accountable to review, comment, and approve construction execution related procedures, specifications, and deliverables prepared by the Contractor.

Working effectively within established procedures and participates in all important meetings and workshops (e.g., weekly, and monthly meetings, 3D Model reviews, Constructability, Construction and Completion Sequence Reviews).

Responsible for the implementation of lessons learned from previous projects with the COMPANY and/or Contractor, as well as capturing and communicating construction lessons learned for the current project.

Verifies that the EPC Contractor provides all contract documents for Construction scope, including those referred to in the Contract.

Bring execution solutions that favor safe construction execution and transition to Commissioning activities. Facilitate periodic meetings with the PMT and contractors as necessary.

Actively engage as required and appropriate with COMPANY Operations to solicit input, provide feedback, and seek alignment on construction execution plans/activities.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Extensive experience in leadership and supervisory roles.

15 years' overall experience with at least 10 years' demonstrated experience in construction of industrial buildings i.e., Administration buildings, Control Rooms, Warehouses with machinery, etc.

Broad and extensive knowledge of building construction (Civil and Architectural), design standards, specifications, codes, appropriate safety criteria, operations, with overall responsibility for construction execution of small to medium-scale projects.

Working experience in Qatar and Industrial City is preferred, and brownfield experience is considered a plus.

Strong organizational and technical judgment skills.

Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.

Make decisions in the general interest while pursuing business results.

Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Advanced computer literacy.

Willing and able to travel as required.

Salary: Day Rate in USD Plus Allowance

Work Schedule: 10 Hours/6 Days

Duration: 30-June-2027, with possible extension
