ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT OFFICER (GLEBE) UNITED WORKERS’ UNION The United Workers Union is seeking a highly motivated Administrative Support Officer based in Glebe, NSW. KEY RESPONSBILITIES This role provides administrative support for the State office, Portfolios, Directors, industry and specialist teams to ensure that the office works effectively and efficiently. This role is required to undertake core administrative work and will be a detail-oriented team player with great service delivery skills. The duties of this position are as follows:

  • Answer and direct incoming calls from members and the public
  • Reception duties include meet and greet visitors, receive and distribute parcels, coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, assist visitors signing in and out, monitoring general office email inbox, booking couriers and taxis when requested and other reception duties as directed.
  • Assist with preparation for meeting and training including booking and setting up rooms and organising catering
  • Assist with arranging Union events including booking offsite and onsite training facilities, transport, and other event logistics.
  • Maintain and distribute merchandise with strict record keeping.
  • Manage the staff common rooms, which includes, but is not limited to, milk deliveries, running and unstacking dishwashers and managing fridges, ordering office cleaning, and kitchen supplies as required.
  • Keep utility areas and all meeting rooms tidy and replenish stationery and paper supply in photocopiers.
  • Support organising staff by completing photocopying tasks, scanning, data entry, typing, formatting, collating of documents including spread sheets and word processing.
  • Support other administrative roles when large volumes of admin and office support requests come in.
  • Support the Admin Travel Team with booking Flights, Accommodation and Hire Cars through our travel platform and other duties as directed
  • Other Administration tasks as requested
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA The skills required for this position are:
  • Advanced telephone etiquette and face to face service.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Positive work attitude and time management.
  • Experience with Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to the United Workers Union’s values.
RENUMERATION This role will receive a salary of $68,914. Other entitlements include:
  • 4 weeks annual leave
  • An RDO per month
  • 16% Superannuation
  • 25 % Annual Leave Loading
