Legal Counsel

• Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues, including contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. 
• Review, draft and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and corporate communications. 
• Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, and provide updates and recommendations to management. 
• Ensure the company's compliance with laws and regulations, including Companies Act and other relevant legislation. 
• Provide legal support for Xinyi acquisitions (potential), investments and other strategic transactions, including performing due diligence, drafting and negotiating term sheets and definitive transaction documentation, and supporting closing transactions and post-closing integration, all in alignment with Group Legal and in accordance with Xinyi Policies & Procedures. 
• Maintenance of all required corporate filings and reports in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. 
• Provide training and support to employees on legal and compliance-related matters

Qualification and Requirement: 

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor Degree in law (LLB) from a reputable university in Malaysia or Singapore and admission to Malaysian Bar Council as an advocate or solicitor. 
• At least 3 years of working experience in as a legal associate in a corporate commercial and/or conveyancing department of a law firm. 
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian laws, regulations and corporate governance practices including corporate/capital markets and compliance matters, employment, litigation and personal data protection matters.
