The Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs & Development is responsible for assisting the Vice President for Academic Affairs & Development in performing all his/her work, as well as providing direct supervision over the library, English Language Departments, partnerships and academic staff development. Main Tasks & Duties
  1. Represent the Vice President for Academic Affairs & Development in the event of his/her absence.
  2. Attend the meetings of the Vice President for Academic Affairs & Development and maintain proper documentation of its proceedings and outcomes, and provide recommendations.
  3. Provide assistance in the governance and management of academic affairs and development activities, as instructed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs & Development.
  4. Monitor and provide a framework for international partnerships.
  5. Oversee the academic staff development unit and coordinate all its activities with all concerned parties.
  6. Oversee the activities of the library and ensure that it is effective and that its development keeps up with the needs of the academic programmes.
  7. Submit periodic reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs & Development on the activity of the units that function under his/her supervision.
  8. Perform any other duties assigned by the Vice President for Academic Affairs & Development.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A PhD in an academic discipline.
  • Ample experience in an academic and administrative field.
  • Basic knowledge of the legislative framework and laws relating to the academic management of universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • A good command of Arabic and English (preferably both spoken and written).
