Hires, coaches, reviews,supervises, and terminates assigned employees, or makes effectivesuggestions and recommendations that are given particular weightregarding the employment status of assigned employees.Prepares material and laborestimates. Prepares sketches ofproposed work, and assists in the design and specifications ofplanned jobs or contracts.Establishes, assigns, and adjusts work methodsand procedures to meet schedules using knowledge of capacities andcapabilities of personnel and equipment.Initiates measures to improve methods,equipment performance, and quality of work.Ensures budgeting guidelines are met;prioritizes expenditures to stay within budget; assists in thepreparation of capital and operations budgets.Interprets policies to assigned personnel, andenforces safety regulations and adherence to proper codes andstandards. Recommends or initiatesaction involving promotions, transfers, disciplinary action, andmotivation of employees. Maintainsrecords and files, including the approval of time cards andabsences, and submits as required.Trains and instructs employees in new methodsor procedures. Maintainsresponsibility for the correct stock levels of repair orreplacement parts. Inspects work inprocess to insure its completion within allotted time limits andfor acceptable quality standards.Coordinates with suppliers, contractors,engineers, and others concerning equipment operations ormaintenance.
