As part of this commitment, we are looking to hire an enthusiastic and passionate candidate, eager to contribute to our continued success through the following employment opportunity: About the Role The Product Management group is looking for an Investment Director for the Loomis Sayles Global Bond and Emerging Market Debt team. The goal of this role is to build out the European client base for these teams in addition to servicing their European clients. The location can be London, UK or Utrecht, The Netherlands. This Investment Director will work closely with the Investment Directors for both teams that are based in Boston. About the Team About the Global Bond team: The Loomis Sayles Global Bond team is an active global fixed income investment team based in Boston (Massachusetts) in the United States. The portfolio management team is led by co-heads Lynda Schweitzer, Scott Service and David Rolley who have worked directly together for over two decades. The team manages active portfolios primarily against global investment grade (aggregate and credit) benchmarks for retail and institutional clients across more than 20 countries. Since the team started managing global bond portfolios in 1986, they have used a value-driven investment philosophy and approach toward active management while offering custom benchmark and portfolio solutions to clients. The team seeks to outperform global fixed income benchmarks by leveraging the firm's large global research organization. They combine that deep fundamental analysis with decades of portfolio manager experience through many credit cycles to rationally manage portfolio risk based on market valuations and conditions. Current AUM: US$28.3 billion. About the Emerging Market Debt team: The Loomis Sayles Emerging Markets Debt Team has a 15+ year track record, managing through multiple cycles and evolving market regimes. Portfolio Managers, Elisabeth Colleran and Edgardo Sternberg, manage a variety of EMD strategies tailored to meet client risk/return objectives. The platform includes EM credit (hard currency) and EM local currency strategies. EM credit strategies include a suite of hard currency EM Corporate (JPM CEMBI), EM Blended (corporate/sovereign), EM Corporate IG, EM Short Duration Corporate (flagship UCITS fund, Article 8) and Asia credit focus strategies. Additionally, the team has been growing an EM Corporate/Sovereign blend book of business serving insurance clients in Europe and the US. The team employs a value-oriented strategy, bottom-up investment philosophy to deliver the long-term premium offered in emerging markets. The team is supported by dedicated EM sovereign and credit analysts as well as a suite of proprietary valuation and risk tools. ESG considerations are embedded in the team's research and portfolio construction to meet client objectives. Current AUM: $3.7 billion. Job Responsibilities This individual will serve as an investment strategy expert and key advocate for the Global Bond team and Emerging Market Debt team with a primary focus on the European client and prospect base Enable portfolio managers to primarily focus on investment decisions Develop a deep knowledge of the teams' investment strategies, including investment philosophy and process, knowledge of all portfolio holdings, risk attributes, past and current positioning and performance attribution and analysis Directly present investment strategies to prospects, consultants and clients in a credible, knowledgeable, and dynamic manner when appropriate Enhance Loomis Sayles relationship management and Natixis team effectiveness in presenting strategies by working with product marketing to provide education and support Serve as champion and investment content resource for organizational efforts to create compelling and accurate messaging in marketing presentations, collateral, and client service material Work with product marketing to develop and execute product positioning and business plans for the Global Bond team and Emerging Market Debt team Drive new product development or custom solutions related to Global Bonds and Emerging Market Debt Represent the firm at speaking engagements when appropriate Help create whitepapers and other thought leadership when such tools are beneficial Respond to ad hoc questions and analysis requests on investment strategies as needed Partner with RFP team to maintain standard RFP library of responses and write customized responses as requested Work with client intake and client service to review and improve all investment guidelines for new and existing accounts Help resolve detailed data, reporting and compliance issues/questions in a timely manner Work with technology and operations on implementation of tools which enhance efficiency or alpha creation Collaborate with other members of the product management team to share best practices and drive collaboration with other functions at firm to improve product related processes Qualifications & Education Requirements 5 plus years of relevant experience in the investment management industry CFA preferred Fixed income experience Experience presenting to large, sophisticated asset buyers and influencers such as corporate plans, public plans, wirehouse home offices, endowment/foundations and investment consultants Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to develop positioning points and influence decision-makers Self motivated individual with the desire to collaboratively build and sustain a book of business. Sense of ownership and accountability is essential Interest and ability to develop a deep knowledge of each of the team's investment strategies, including current holdings, risk attributes, positioning and performance attribution and analysis Strong collaborative skills. Ability to work effectively among peers and across the organization, with a high level of professionalism, business acumen and sound judgment Hands on orientation. Willingness to perform detailed tasks Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities International travel (focus on Europe) as necessary, 20% - 50% of time.
