The individual in this role is responsible for providing technical assistance to staff and students, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the college's IT environment.Key Responsibilities:Technical Support:Provide timely and effective technical support to staff and students on a wide range of IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.Conduct training sessions on the use of various software applications and technology tools.Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.Hardware and Software Maintenance:Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, network devices, and other hardware components.Ensure that software applications and operating systems are up-to-date and in compliance with licensing agreements.Network Administration:Assist in the administration and maintenance of the college's computer networks.Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement necessary solutions.Security:Implement and maintain security measures to protect the college's IT infrastructure from unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats.Assist in the development and enforcement of IT security policies.Inventory Management:Maintain an inventory of all IT equipment, including computers, peripherals, and software licenses.Track and manage the deployment and retirement of IT assets.Documentation:Document IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.Keep records of user issues, resolutions, and system changes.Participate in planning and implementing IT projects as needed.QUALIFICATIONDiploma or bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is preferred.Relevant certifications are added advantage (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) Proven 5 plus years of experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting in an educational setting.Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networks, and security.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail..
