At DigitalPaani, we're building the future of water to help meet up to 65% of urban water needs and solve the growing water and climate crisis across the world.Today, 75% of the wastewater treatment facilities (STPs/ ETPs) in factories and buildings don't work properly because the expertise and data to handle such complex operations doesn't exist at the ground level. Our IoT-enabled software platform for water is serving this $17 billion opportunity by managing the complete operations cycle for each one of these facilities and transforming them into compliant units delivering high quality water. We've been awarded by Niti Aayog and FICCI for our innovative approach, backed by international investors like Elemental Excelerator (first Asian company in their portfolio!), and are serving customers like Tata Power, Taj Hotels, Dr Reddy and more. We're now looking for an IoT Integration / RnD Engineer who wants to disrupt how traditional automation is done and join our team from Stanford and IIT-Delhi to solve meaningful problems at scale.About the roleYou will play a critical role in the execution of DigitalPaani to serve our customers and achieve our audacious goals. In particular, this role will entail:This role is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in IoT engineering, working with cutting-edge technologies and platforms.As an IoT Integration Engineer, you will have the chance to apply your knowledge of JavaScript, Node.js, Python, or C++ to develop custom IoT solutions and integrations.You will work closely with experienced engineers and developers, receiving mentorship and guidance as you contribute to the design, development, and implementation of IoT projects.This role provides a supportive environment for learning and growth, with opportunities to expand your skills in areas such as hardware integration, cloud computing, and data analytics.You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects across industries, gaining valuable experience and exposure to different IoT applications and use cases.This role offers a pathway for career advancement within Digital Paani, with the potential to take on increasing levels of responsibility and leadership as you progress in your career.About youThe person we're looking for has:You are either a recent graduate eager to kickstart your career in IoT engineering or have approximately 1 year of experience working with JavaScript, Node.js, Python, or C++, with a focus on IoT applications.Your background includes hands-on experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers and processors, either through academic projects, internships, or personal projects.You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, providing you with a solid foundation in engineering principles and practices.You possess a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of IoT engineering, with a curiosity for exploring new technologies and solving complex problems.You excel in a collaborative team environment, where you can leverage your technical skills and contribute to the success of projects through creative problem-solving and effective communication.You are driven by a passion for innovation and making a meaningful impact, whether it's optimising processes, improving efficiency, or enhancing user experiences through IoT solutions.Skill Sets:Proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, Python, or C++: Strong programming skills in at least one of these languages are essential for developing IoT applications and integrations. Familiarity with multiple languages is a plus, allowing for flexibility in adapting to different project requirements.Experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers and processors: Hands-on experience with hardware platforms such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi is crucial for implementing IoT solutions. Knowledge of other microcontrollers and processors expands the range of projects you can undertake.Understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering principles: A solid foundation in engineering principles provides the necessary background to design and integrate IoT solutions effectively. Knowledge of concepts such as circuits, sensors, actuators, and mechanical systems is beneficial.IoT Concepts and Protocols: Familiarity with IoT concepts, architectures, and protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, HTTP, and WebSocket is important for developing efficient and scalable IoT solutions. Understanding how IoT devices communicate and interact with each other and with cloud platforms is key.Node-RED: Proficiency in Node-RED, a flow-based development tool for visual programming, enables rapid development of IoT applications and workflows. Experience in creating custom flows, integrating devices, and deploying solutions using Node-RED is highly beneficial.Problem-solving and Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills are essential for identifying and resolving issues encountered during IoT system integration and deployment. The ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently is critical for maintaining system reliability.Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are necessary for collaborating with cross-functional teams, conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and providing support to clients. Clear and concise communication facilitates successful project execution and fosters productive teamwork.Continuous Learning and Adaptability: A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and methodologies is crucial in the rapidly evolving field of IoT engineering.
