The Psychologist - CAMHS (Master's) is responsible for providing specialist psychological intakes, assessments and interventions for children and adolescents (C&A) patients. The incumbent is responsible for evaluating complex psychological data and formulating/ implementing a formal psychological treatment plan for the patients. The incumbent is also responsible for providing specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to the patient's treatment plan.You must be currently licensed in your Country of Origin as a Psychologist to be eligible for Licensing in Qatar. You should have had 5+ years' experience as a practicing clinical psychologist, psychological counselor, or psychotherapist, inclusive of 2+ years in the area of child / young adult psychology. Fluency in Written and Spoken Arabic is highly preferred.KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: Evaluates the seriousness of issues and makes decisions regarding the most effective and suitable treatment options. Consistent with one's training, scope, and clinical skill/knowledge, provides specialist psychological assessments and diagnosis for patients referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex psychological data from a variety of sources including psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care. Provides clinical formulations and comprehensive written reports regarding assessments completed or tests administered. Provides specialized clinical psychological input to the families, including assessment results and proposed psychological interventions for psychological, behavioral and learning challenges. Formulates and implements plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a child's psychological problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the problems, and employing methods of proven efficacy, across the full range of care settings. Implements a range of psychological interventions, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses. Evaluates and makes decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual. Provides after-hours on-call coverage on a rotation basis with other clinicians in the Department. Reviews relevant school and/or other medical records to understand cases better. Provides specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to patient's formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan. Undertakes risk assessment and risk management for individual patients and provides general advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management. Keeps abreast with current literature, talks with colleagues, and participates in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in clinical psychology, counselling, developmental psychology, serious mental illness/severe emotional disturbance, and/or neuropsychology. Provides group therapy for children and families, in both inpatient and outpatient settings as needed. Makes sure that patient participation and input is integrated with the overall treatment plan. Maintains confidentiality with regards to information exchanged or received in the current capacity of role in accordance with departmental guidelines. Provides psychological services (e.g., assessment, intervention, consultation) with cultural competence appropriate to a wide variety of ethnic, linguistic, and religious populations. Provides clinical supervision, based on scope and experience, to improve clinical skills and professional development of students, trainees, and early career colleagues. Engages in peer consultation and multidisciplinary meetings in order to improve clinical care and to maintain ongoing professional standards. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS - REQUIREMENTS:Education: Master's degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or related mental health fieldExperience: 5+ years' experience as a practicing clinical psychologist, psychological counselor, or psychotherapist, inclusive of 2+ years in the area of child / young adult psychologyCertification and Licensure: Current License in country of origin as a Psychologist, Professional Counselor, or PsychotherapistEligible for license in State of QatarJob Specific Skills and Abilities:  Demonstrated experience in theoretical psychological techniques and expertise in providing consultations Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and providing consultation to child/ young adult patients. Critical analysis and problem-solving skill Ability to work independently Ability to work collaboratively through consultation with other health care team Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite Fluency in written and spoken English
