Loyalist welcomes applications and nominations for the position of Senior Vice President Academic and Chief Learning Officer, a role that is omnipresent at the College, and one that meaningfully impacts the strategic and academic direction of the institution.Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Vice President Academic and Chief Learning Officer (SVP Academic and CLO) provides strategic leadership and direction primarily to the College's academic-related units, which include multiple schools, the Centre for Leadership, Learning and Academic Excellence, the Office of the Registrar, Work Integrated Learning, the Library, and so forth. The SVP Academic and CLO promotes the improvement of existing academic programs all while encouraging the development of new academic programming that is novel, compelling, and responsive to the needs of external communities and today's learners. Committed to the provision of an exceptional student experience, the incoming leader also works in partnership with colleagues across the institution to deliver programs, initiatives, and services that will ensure students are successful inside as well as outside the classroom. As a member of the College's Executive Team (CET), the SVP Academic and CLO is a major contributor to the College's financial viability, overall growth, and external reputation.Among the qualifications being sought in candidates, the incoming leader must have a deep and abiding commitment to advancing reconciliation, equity, diversity, and inclusion in all its forms and must believe, intrinsically, in the importance of leading with curiosity and welcoming ideas that can later be synthesized and turned into possibility. While all candidates are encouraged to apply and, in so doing, share how they see themselves adding value to the Loyalist environment, the following credentials and/or experiences are seen as possible markers of the candidates most likely to realize success in the role: A) several years of progressive academic leadership experience, preferably gained within the College sector or within a University that regularly interfaces with College partners; B) deep knowledge around the various modes of program delivery, including delivery that leverages existing and emerging IT applications, as well as firsthand experience with program reviews, quality assurance processes, and academic planning;C) direct experience with or a strong appreciation for government and external relations; andD) a graduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, along with a record of teaching experience at the post-secondary level. Loyalist College is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive college community. They encourage and welcome applications from marginalized and equity-deserving groups.Loyalist College invites applications from all qualified candidates; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority. The College is partnering with BIPOC Executive Search to ensure an applicant list that is diverse and is as intersectional as possible. All interested applicants can send their resume to Urmilla Mahabirsingh or Jason Murray by e-mailing umahabirsingh@bipocsearch.com, or can apply through the BIPOC Executive Search mobile app.In accordance with the AODA Act, for applicants living with a disability accommodation will be provided throughout the search process.
