Job Summary: HKEX is looking for a highly experienced, motivated and proven senior communications professional to join its influential Communications Team to manage its relations with the global press. The successful candidate must have experience working with senior executives in a public company and they must be able to demonstrate a track record of excellent judgement, leadership and good counsel. We are looking for an individual who is not only comfortable responding to media enquiries, but can help design and implement media and content campaigns, pitch stories and creatively position ideas and thought-leadership with the broader press. We are looking for a proven manager and dynamic team player with exceptional media relations skills, who could help run a diverse team of seaso ned media relations professionals. The successful candidate will be extremely well-networked, will have gravitas and is someone who is well respected in the media scene, preferably having worked as a journalist and possesses the personality and motivation to build ongoing relationships with the media. The Media Relations team, part of the Group's Communications function, is responsible for accurately communicating HKEX's strategy and new developments, maintaining the Group's high standards of transparency and managing HKEX's local and international reputation, primarily through regular communication with the media and by developing informative content on its social media platforms. The team works closely with the HKEX Board, executive, senior management and the business to ensure that HKEX is accurately represented. The successful candidate will work closely with the Communications leadership team in delivering a successful and cohesive communications programme. Job Duties: Job Responsibilities:

  • Promote and protect HKEX's reputation in the media and social media
  • Professionally manage HKEX communications with print/broadcast/social and digital media, including messaging (preparing articles, news releases, lines-to-take and other content initiatives) and manage the flow of news of the company to media
  • Ensure key HKEX executives and senior management have balanced and appropriate exposure in the media
  • Support broader Communications-driven content development initiatives and programmes
  • Act as a spokesperson on behalf of the company and address media enquiries
  • As a senior member of the Communications team, help develop talent and continuously working to raise the function's visibility in the organisation
  • Be a valued member of the team, working with Communications team members and with other key HKEX stakeholders to deliver consistency and accuracy in all HKEX communications
  • Contribute to the strategic thinking of the Corporate Communications Team, and the broader group
Requirements for the ideal candidate:
  • University educated, preferably in journalism, communications, finance, business management or a related discipline
  • Native English speaker with excellent written and oral communication skills; proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese Chinese would be a plus
  • Experience in working in either financial markets, capital markets, fintech or market regulation. Broader experience and understanding of technology, economics, global current affairs, sustainability or data would be advantageous
  • Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in corporate communications, at least a part of which must have been with a listed company, ideally with proven managerial and international experience
  • Have strong leadership skills and capabilities in managing diverse relationships; as well as a proven and wide network
  • Be a motivated self-starter who must be able to take initiative using sound judgement, drawing on their experiences for the benefit of the business
