Parramatta State School is a growing school located in the heart of the city. The school contains approximately 460 students and caters for students from a wide variety of backgrounds. As the Head of Department, you will: Lead the pedagogy development of teachers at Parramatta with a key focus on Explicit Teaching. Support the Head of Curriculum leading the Reading through the Australian Curriculum. The role will focus on team and individual development Support the leadership team to enact the AIP goals of academic performance and reading. Implement version 9 of the Australian Curriculum. Within the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities: Demonstrated teaching competence and capacity to provide curriculum leadership leading to the achievement of quality learning outcomes for all students. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships within and beyond the school community. Capacity to use analytical skills to contribute to educational outcomes at the school level. Capacity to manage effectively human, financial and physical resources to deliver high quality outcomes. Demonstrated support for and the capacity to develop and maintain an organisational culture based on ethical professional and personal behaviours and corporate value Key responsibilities of the role is Developing the skills of teachers. The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum, strong understanding of Explicit Teaching and strong capability building skills.
