Our vision is one of equity and excellence in a progressive, high performing education system that realises the potential of every student. Your role:As the Principal Financial Analyst, you will: Provide specialist advice and direction to senior executives and stakeholders through the provision of accurate and timely financial modelling and analysis.Work with, and guide where appropriate, analysts whose responsibility within the Division is to provide high quality financial analysis and advice to business units across the department. The Principal Financial Analyst reports to the Director, NSSAF Review Task Force in External Relations and Research, Policy, External Relations and International, Policy, Performance, International and Intergovernmental Division.Responsibilities include, but not limited to; Perform complex modelling, research, evaluation and analysis to inform the financial decisions of senior executives, the Director-General and the Minister on proposed regulatory initiatives, projects, programs or policies.Collaborate with subject matter experts within the Department to develop and build dynamic financial models that cost and evaluate projects, scenarios and options and consider and quantify the impact of business and financial risks and report against key performance indicators.Develop and implement frameworks, policies and processes for reporting, budgeting and the evaluation of the financial viability of regulated entities.Prepare ministerial and departmental briefings, adhoc reports, research papers, undertake financial projects or resolve other issues as requested by the Director.Maintain an understanding of whole of government imperatives, Queensland government modelling protocols and Queensland government preferences for comprehensive financial analysis to inform best practice for the department.Initiate and develop plans, strategies and goals for the team including the identification of factors, trends and influences that may impact on the achievement of work objectives.
